Product description

The braiser’s shape is the reason to choose it: a broad base for arranging food, with sides high enough to hold the additional ingredients in a one-pan meal. You can begin on the stovetop and continue a suitable recipe in the oven. The enamel covers the cooking surface, so setting up the pan does not involve the initial seasoning associated with bare cast iron.

For covered oven cooking, the lid determines the limit: keep the complete assembly within 500°F even though the pan alone is rated higher. Plan a protected place to set the lid and use oven mitts for the hot handles. This is a good match for someone who wants to cook around a single substantial vessel and is willing to wash and dry it by hand afterward.

Why choose this model

Braise in one vessel

The pan-and-lid arrangement fits recipes that combine an initial stovetop step with covered cooking.

Skip initial seasoning

An enameled interior is useful if you prefer to start with ordinary washing before first use.
