Product description

The PowerClean 4173 assembles from a hand vacuum, extension wand and motorized floor head. That modular arrangement is useful when a job changes from a room floor to a smaller surface. The built-in attachments are also worth considering if you prefer fewer loose accessories to find and store.

Set aside a charging location and think about when you will clean the filters. The battery takes about three hours to charge, while washed pre-motor filter components need 24 hours to dry completely. Those are separate steps in the ownership routine; a charged battery does not make a damp filter ready for use.

Before you buy

Inspect the brush roll and clear debris as directed. A reduced-wrap design still needs routine care.

Care & maintenance

Switch off before maintenance. Dry-wipe the tank, separator and post-motor filter.
Wash the pre-motor foam and pleated filters and their cage in warm water. Dry completely for 24 hours before refitting.
