Product description

The IR40V is useful for routine shirts, trousers and household linens when you want uncomplicated controls. Select the setting that matches the garment’s care label, then use steam or spray as appropriate. The pivoting cord helps you reposition the iron as you work.

The translucent tank lets you see the water level while filling. The manual calls for ordinary tap water, rather than water from a home softener. Steam is available at the higher fabric settings; for lower-temperature items, use the appropriate dry setting and test an inconspicuous area if the fabric is uncertain.

Why choose this model

Fewer separate adjustments

Fabric temperature and steam output work together.

Targeted wrinkle treatment

Before you buy

  • Check the garment label before ironing. Automatic shutoff does not replace placing the iron safely on its heel and unplugging it when finished.

Care & maintenance

  • Unplug before refilling or cleaning. Let it cool, then wipe the soleplate and exterior with a soft damp cloth. Avoid abrasives and vinegar, and store upright on the heel.
