A ceramic-coated aluminum Dutch oven for soups, stews and recipes that finish in the oven.
This Calphalon Dutch oven brings a covered-pot format to everyday dishes such as bean stews, simmered sauces and braises. The Flour finish is paired with stainless steel handles and a glass lid. Choose the pot around your usual recipe volume, leaving enough room to stir without bringing liquid up to the rim.
For a meal that starts on the hob and finishes in the oven, check the recipe temperature before transferring the pot. Keep mitts ready for the handles and lid after oven use. If you are choosing cookware for an induction kitchen, look for an explicitly compatible model; the manufacturer lists gas, electric and glass for this one.
The transparent lid is useful when you want to check activity without repeatedly uncovering the dish.
