A red silicone cover for most traditional Lodge cast iron assist handles, providing a dedicated grip when lifting and serving with a hot pan.
A loaded skillet can be easier to control when you support its short assist handle as well as its main handle. This holder covers the assist grip on compatible Lodge cast iron cookware. Test how it sits on the cool pan first, especially if the handle differs from the traditional Lodge shape.
Use separate heat protection for the other handle and plan where the hot pan will land before lifting. The 450°F rating does not make this an oven accessory: remove it during cooking, grilling and baking, and keep it away from flame. Its role is to help with moving and serving the cookware after the heat is off.
Complements separate protection on the main handle.
Use it when the assist handle needs to be held.
