Details: This kit provides all the replacement hydraulic components to rework an old splitter, or to build a new one. The 16 gpm pump provides enough flow for a range of cylinders. The bigger the cylinder bore, the more splitting force, but slower cycles. Smaller cylinder bores have less splitting force but are a lot faster. A 4" cylinder is plenty for most splitting and will be the fastest. If you have some tough wood you may want a 4.5" cylinder. If you're constantly splitting big, gnarly logs, go with a 5" for maximum force.
